In the AFF Futsal Cup 2022 final, which will take place at Terminal 21 in Korat in two days, Bintang Timur Surabaya (BTS) FC of Indonesia and Hongyan Thakam FC of Thailand will square off for the first time.
The Vietnamese champion Sahako FC was defeated by the Indonesian champion Hongyen Thakam in the first semifinal, 2-1, while Selangor MAC defeated both Hongyen Thakam and Selangor, 6-2, in the second semifinal.
After Edison Coelho added the second goal a minute later, Sunny Rizki Suhendra's conversion of Alfajri Zikri's attempt in the sixth minute gave BTS the lead they needed to go up 2-0.
Sahako had hoped to bounce back, much like they did when they beat Selangor MAC to win the group, but they soon discovered that BTS was a little more seasoned and composed.

When Duong Ngoc Linh blasted past goalkeeper Muhammad Nazil Purnama in the 27th minute, his darting run had paid off and brought BTS closer.
They had numerous chances right away, but they were unable to prevent BTS from becoming the first group to ever advance to the final.
Hongyen Thakam easily defeated Selangor MAC 6-2 to get to the final.
After five minutes, the team's captain, Katawut Phoopan, scored to put them in front. Ten minutes later, Syed Aizad Daniel Syed Nasir equalized the score with a left-footed strike.
In the 13th minute, Wilson Neto's expertly executed free kick gave Hongyen a 2-1 lead as they headed to the locker room.
In the 21st minute of play, Selangor MAC scored their second goal of the game, but they were unable to stop Hongyen from outplaying them and winning the game.
Supot Makrak gave Hongyen the lead in the 21st minute as the Thai squad prepared to battle in their inaugural season final. Wendel Mendes, Amarin Akapan, and Wittaya Duangpoo all provided goals for Hongyen.
